FAQs for Organizations considering Supporting Fair Districts for NM

What will be required of my organization when we become a supporter?

The only requirement is that you believe in our mission to achieve an Independent Redistricting Commission for New Mexico. Beyond that, any support of our mission is voluntary and we would welcome and encourage you to be involved.

Can we expect publicity from our support of Fair Districts?

We publish our list of supporting organizations on our website with a link to your website. We make this list available in print, particularly for our legislators, as they will determine our ability to place the question of an Independent Redistricting Commission on the ballot as a constitutional amendment.

Who are the current supporting organizations of Fair Districts for New Mexico?

You can see them listed here on our website. We would love to include you!

Are we required or requested to make a financial contribution?

We are fully funded by a grant from the Thornburg Foundation and will never ask you for financial support.

How do we sign up?

You can sign up your organization in less than one minute here.

Do we need to attend meetings?

You need not attend any meetings, though we will invite you and welcome you or any representative from your organization.

Will we be involved in the legislative work?

We will encourage you to participate with us as we ask our legislators to sponsor and vote for legislation for a constitutional amendment for an independent redistricting commission.

Will we be updated about progress at FDNM?

We do send occasional email updates to a point person(s) at your organization.

What if we need to withdraw for any reason?

No problem, your support can be discontinued upon your request.
